OG Dogs — Food Truck Branding, Custom Artwork & Launch Campaign
Brand Identity · Food Truck Design · Custom Artwork · Illustration · Photography · Website Design · Social Media Content
OG Dogs approached Blackbook Ink to create a complete brand identity for their New York street and hip-hop inspired hot dog and burger food truck. The vision was to create a bold, memorable food truck brand that captured the attitude of New York street culture while standing out at events, festivals and on the road across Sydney.
Rather than simply applying a logo to a vehicle, the goal was to build a complete visual identity around OG Dogs — from the logo and illustrated mascot through to the custom food truck artwork, apparel, photography, website and launch content.
Creating the OG Dogs Brand Identity
Blackbook Ink developed the OG Dogs identity from the ground up, creating the logo, mascot illustration and overall visual direction for the brand.
The logotype takes inspiration from classic American baseball and soft-drink script lettering, giving it a familiar old-school American feel that connects naturally with the New York street food concept.
At the centre of the identity is the OG Dogs mascot — an illustrated dog dressed in streetwear. Inspired by the bold character design of American sports mascots, the character was given an aggressive edge while retaining enough humour and personality to keep the brand playful and approachable. The result is a distinctive mascot that’s instantly associated with the OG Dogs food truck.
Apparel & Merchandise
The OG Dogs identity was extended into a range of branded apparel — t-shirts and a cap carrying the mascot and logo — giving the brand a wearable presence beyond the truck itself and turning customers into walking billboards.
Food Photography & Social Media Content
Blackbook Ink also helped develop the visual content used to introduce OG Dogs to customers. Working with our photographer, we created original food photography and branded social media content featuring OG Dogs’ hot dogs and burgers.
Rather than photographing the food against generic restaurant backgrounds, the imagery was art-directed around the wider brand identity. Street textures and branded graphic elements helped give the photography the same raw New York-inspired character as the food truck itself, creating a consistent visual experience whether customers discovered OG Dogs in person, on the road or through social media.
Blackbook Ink also developed the OG Dogs website, extending the brand identity into its digital presence, bringing together the mascot, typography, photography, illustrations and street-inspired textures established through the original branding. For the launch campaign, we collaborated with Honey Collective, who managed the OG Dogs social media campaign in the lead-up to launch — the combination of photography, graphic design, branded content and social media marketing helped introduce the new food truck, showcase the food and build anticipation before OG Dogs officially hit the streets.
Custom Food Truck Artwork
The food truck itself became one of the most important parts of the OG Dogs brand. Blackbook Ink transformed the vehicle into a mobile piece of branded artwork, using the OG Dogs identity, illustration and street-inspired visual elements to create a truck designed to attract attention wherever it travelled.
The artwork draws heavily on influences from New York street culture, graffiti, hip-hop and American sports graphics, creating a strong visual connection between the food being served and the culture that inspired the business. Bold graphics and the illustrated mascot give the food truck a recognisable presence from a distance, while smaller details and textures reward customers who see the artwork up close. For a mobile food business, the truck isn’t simply where the food is prepared — it’s also one of the brand’s biggest advertising assets, designed to function as both a mobile kitchen and a moving billboard for the brand. See the full food truck gallery above.
The wider OG Dogs identity combines illustration, typography, photography and raw urban textures — some elements deliberately clean and simple, others more layered and chaotic. Street textures, distressed surfaces and urban imagery were incorporated throughout to reinforce the philosophy behind OG Dogs: simple street food packed with flavour, a look carried from the food truck artwork into menus, promotional material, digital content and social media.
Building a Food Truck Brand That Gets Noticed
OG Dogs demonstrates how strong food truck branding can go far beyond a logo. By combining brand identity, illustration, custom food truck artwork, graphic design, photography, website design and social media content, Blackbook Ink created a cohesive brand that works across both physical and digital environments.
Most importantly, the food truck itself became a major part of the identity. The finished OG Dogs truck captures the attitude of New York street food, graffiti and hip-hop culture, while the mascot adds humour and personality that makes the brand approachable and memorable — a bold mobile food brand designed to turn heads, attract customers and be recognised wherever the truck goes.
